As enthusiastically received by indie-underground bastions as she is by acoustic listening rooms, Ariana credits her unusual upbringing for her ability to cross boundaries with her music. From the time she was conceived in Afghanistan (known in ancient times as Ariana) to her years spent travelling cross-country in a converted VW van, Ariana's nomadic beginnings endowed her with the rare ability to distill detailed observations into universal themes. She recently returned to her native Rockland County, NY where, when she is not writing music, she pursues other interests such as astrology, photography, weight-lifting and running.
Some of Ariana's appearances have included: Outpost in The Burbs, Montclair, NJ; The Turning Point, Piermont, NY; Upstairs at Nicks, Philadelphia, PA; Celebrate Montclair festival, Montclair, NJ; The Music Among Friends Coffeehouse, Hoboken, NJ and the Fast Folk Café, the Living Room, Luna Lounge, the Sidewalk Café, CBGB's and the Dark Star Lounge in New York City. She has opened for several national acts including Ellis Paul and Suzane Vega.
Ariana is currently recording her first full-length release Second Guess. Ariana's songs appear on several compilations including the Indiegrrl compilation #1 and Lord Knows Volume 1, a compilation produced by New York City based concert promoter Lord Bishop. Songs from Ariana's debut demo 4-Play have been played on radio stations across the country from WKAOS in Olympia WA to WPKN in New Haven Connecticut.
